When a payment is made for an order the customer is agreeing to all Kinkel Jewellery’s Terms and Conditions
Commissions
We require a few days to design your custom jewellery piece. Custom orders may take longer than our regular collection items, with a manufacturing time of two to three weeks. A 50% deposit is needed before we start the manufacturing process. Please double-check your sizes when placing an order, as we cannot be held responsible for incorrect measurements. Gold ring prices vary depending on size and dollar rates. Custom jewellery cannot be returned. Keep in mind that quotes are only valid for 7 days due to fluctuating metal and stone prices.
Sizes
It’s your responsibility to order the correct ring size, chain length, or bracelet/bangle size. You can come to our studio to have your ring size measured, or visit a nearby professional jeweller. Remember, on hot or cold days, your fingers may change size. Broader bands also fit tighter than thin ones. Sizing a piece after it’s made isn’t always easy or possible. If resizing is needed, you will need to cover the costs.

Locally Handmade
All Kinkel jewellery pieces are handmade in our Cape Town studio using high-quality metals and gemstones. Since every piece is handcrafted and each gemstone is unique, there may be subtle variations from the photos on the website. These small differences make each piece special, ensuring you’re not getting a mass-produced product.

Jewellery Care
It is important to take good care of your jewellery to make it last longer and keep it sparkling.
To ensure your jewellery lasts and remains beautiful, it’s important to take proper care of it. Silver can tarnish when exposed to air, moisture, chlorine, beauty products, perfume, or cleaning agents. To prevent this, store your jewellery in a dry, safe place and protect it from these elements. Wearing your jewellery often helps maintain its shine, as it rubs against your clothing. If it loses its sparkle, clean it with a soft toothbrush, soap, and warm water, then dry it with a soft towel.
Handle gemstones gently and avoid harsh chemicals, especially with pearls, which scratch easily. You can visit our studio for a free jewellery polishing or purchase a polishing cloth.
Lead Time and Shipping
As a small business, we need time to create your jewellery with care. Your order may take 6 to 15 working days to manufacture and ship, depending on its size. We only start making your piece once full payment is received. If payment isn’t made within 4 days of placing an order, it will be cancelled.
When your jewellery is ready, we will notify you. You can collect it from our studio during our opening hours, or we can arrange delivery. Couriered items typically arrive within 3 to 8 working days, depending on your location. While we use reliable couriers like FastWay, we can’t control delivery speeds after the package leaves our shop. Some remote areas may experience delays, and delivery to those locations may not always be possible. A courier fee of R80 applies within South Africa, excluding some rural areas.
For international shipping, we use the South African Postal Service. Delivery may take 2 to 4 weeks, and shipping costs vary depending on the country. Please note, we don’t ship gold or platinum items internationally. Kinkel Jewellery is not responsible for any customs fees, import duties, or taxes. We recommend checking these details for your country before ordering. A signature is required upon delivery, and if a package is returned due to delivery issues, you will need to cover repeat shipping costs.
Return Policy
We hope that every customer will be very pleased with their jewellery piece, but if you are not satisfied with your item or in case it is damaged when the package is opened, we will refund you if you contact us within 48 hours of receiving your package. If the piece is returned to us within 7 days, unworn, unused and undamaged, in its original packaging we will refund you. We cannot however cover the costs of returning the jewellery to us. The customer will be responsible to return the jewellery to us by their own means. Kinkel Jewellery will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of the jewellery items purchased once the tags have been removed and the item has been worn. The return policy unfortunately does not cover custom pieces, engraved pieces and earrings (for health reasons).
Repairs
Kinkel Jewellery provides extensive repair services. Contact us about any repairs, plating, restringing, or stone settings and we’ll assist with pricing. If your jewellery breaks within four months due to a manufacturing fault, we will repair it. However, we can’t be liable for chain breakages, as chains aren’t handmade in our studio. All breakages are assessed for wear and tear before repairs. Please note, repair isn’t always possible depending on the damage. While we are highly qualified to repair jewellery, we can’t be responsible for any issues that occur during repair, as we may be unaware of hidden flaws in the metal or stones. We recommend a yearly maintenance and refurbishment service.
Gift Vouchers
You can purchase gift vouchers as a special gift. These can be redeemed for items from our existing stock or used for custom designs. Each voucher is valid for 3 years. Any additional costs beyond the value of the voucher will be paid by the redeemer. Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash, and any remaining balance is forfeited after a single transaction. Only one voucher can be used per purchase, and lost or stolen vouchers will not be replaced.
The same terms apply to our Honeymoon Jewellery Vouchers. We involve the redeemer in the design process, but we can’t be held liable for mistakes made when filling out the voucher.
Wholesale
Kinkel Jewellery is available for wholesale orders at discount prices. For more information, contact us at orders@kinkeljewellery.co.za. Please note, large orders may take several weeks to complete, as all pieces are handmade.
These Terms and Conditions May Change
We reserve the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Your use of kinkeljewellery.co.za following any such change constitutes your agreement to follow and be bound by the terms and conditions as changed. For this reason, we encourage you to review these terms and conditions whenever you use this website.

Shipping Limitations
When an order is placed, it will be shipped to an address designated by the purchaser as long as that shipping address is compliant with the shipping restrictions contained on this website. All purchases from this website are made pursuant to a shipment contract. As a result, risk of loss and title for items purchased from this website pass to you upon delivery of the items to the carrier. You are responsible for filing any claims with carriers for damaged and/or lost shipments.
Duties and Taxes
You are responsible for duties and taxes outside Singapore. All items entering a foreign country are subject to customs inspection and assessment of the duties and taxes in accordance with that country’s national laws.
Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and information submitted on kinkeljewellery.co.za, and you agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account and password. This website and the company reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts remove or edit content or cancel orders.
By placing an order, you warrant that you are over 18 years of age, and that you are providing kinkeljewellery.co.za with accurate, truthful information and that you have the authority to place the order.
Exchange and Refund Policy
If there is a manufacturing fault with the goods and they are defective, you can return them within 7 days of the date of purchase. Please be aware that:
You must have the original receipt
The goods must have been used for their intended purpose
The goods must have been cared for
In this situation, we will repair/replace your goods should no misconduct be detectable.
All merchandise must be returned in sellable condition, otherwise, an exchange would not be allowed. We reserve the right to reject any form of exchange without the original receipt.
