When a payment is made for an order the customer is agreeing to all Kinkel Jewellery’s Terms and Conditions
We will require a few days to design a specific jewellery piece for you. Custom jewellery can take slightly longer than the rest of our collection pieces. Expect a two to three week manufacturing time for a custom jewellery piece. We will require a 50% deposit before manufacturing can start. Please note that we are not responsible if the wrong sizes are given to us. Gold Ring prices can vary depending on the ring size and Dollar price. Custom jewellery pieces cannot be returned. Any Invoice or Quote that is sent by Kinkel Jewellery is only valid for 7 days as metal and stone prices continually change with the Dollar price.
It is the customer’s responsibility to order the correct ring size, chain length or bracelet/bangle size. Feel free to come measure your ring size at our studio or go to the nearest professional jeweller to you. Keep in mind that on a really hot or cold day your fingers might increase or decrease in size. Broader bands will also fit tighter than thin bands. It is not always easy or possible to size a piece after it has been made. The customer will have to cover the costs to resize the ring.

All Kinkel’s jewellery pieces are handmade in our Cape Town studio with high quality metals and gemstones. As the pieces are all handmade and every gemstone differs, every piece of jewellery is unique, which means that there may be subtle variations to the pictures on the website. This makes every piece more special as you are not getting something that is factory made or mass produced.
It is important to take good care of your jewellery to make it last longer and keep it sparkling. Silver will tarnish black over time when it comes in contact with air, moisture, chlorine, beauty products, perfume and cleaning products; therefore protect your jewels as best you can from these products and keep them in a dry, safe place. The best way of keeping your jewellery shiny is to wear it, as it rubs on clothing etc. Wear your jewels as much as possible! If your jewellery becomes dull and starts to lose its shine, one can clean it with a soft toothbrush with soap and warm water and dry it with a soft towel. Also take care of your gemstones by handling them with care and keeping them away from harsh chemicals. Pearls are particularly susceptible to damage and scratches easily. Feel free to come to the studio to get your jewellery polished free of charge or to purchase a polishing cloth.
Lead Time and Shipping
As Kinkel Jewellery is still a small business and all products are made by hand, we do not always have everything in stock and may need some time to make your jewellery to precision. Keep in mind that your jewellery can take 5 to 15 working days to be manufactured and shipped, depending on how big the order is. We will only start manufacturing your jewellery piece after full payment is made. If an order is placed and the customer does not pay within 4 days, the order will be cancelled.
When your piece is finished you will be notified. Self-collection at the studio is possible with appointment (see contact details). Otherwise we can courier your jewellery to you which will then arrive between 3 to 8 working days depending on how far you live. We make use of reliable courier services (FastWay), but take note that we cannot be held liable for delays in delivery once your item has left the shop. We are unfortunately not in control of how fast the courier can deliver your package. On rare occasions, a few places might not be possible to deliver to as it is too remote. A fee of R80 will be charged for the courier service in South Africa (excluding some rural areas).
For International shipping we use our Postal Service and therefore shipping may take much longer; from 2 to 4 weeks. International post is also much more expensive and the price will vary between different countries. We do not ship any gold or platinum items internationally. Kinkel Jewellery will not be liable for any custom fees, import duties or taxes. We advise you to first check this information according to your country beforehand. You will be expected to sign for your package if the order is returned to me due to postal or courier services not being able to complete the delivery for any reason. The customer will be responsible for the repeat shipping costs.
We hope that every customer will be very pleased with their jewellery piece, but if you are not satisfied with your item or in case it is damaged when the package is opened, we will refund you if you contact us within 48 hours of receiving your package. If the piece is returned to us within 7 days, unworn, unused and undamaged, in its original packaging we will refund you. We cannot however cover the costs of returning the jewellery to us. The customer will be responsible to return the jewellery to us by their own means. Kinkel Jewellery will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of the jewellery items purchased once the tags have been removed and the item has been worn. The return policy unfortunately does not cover custom pieces, engraved pieces and earrings (for health reasons).
Kinkel Jewellery offers extensive jewellery repair services. Feel free to contact us about any jewellery repairs, plating, restringing or setting and pricing. If your jewellery piece breaks within four months, because of manufacturing fault, the customer can return the piece for repair. Kinkel Jewellery cannot be liable for chains that break, as the chains are not handmade in the studio. Every breakage will first be assessed for wear and tear before repair. Repair may not always be possible, depending on the damage. Kinkel cannot be held liable if anything happens to your jewellery piece being repaired, as we are unaware of any flaws inside the metal or stones. But we do promise that we are qualified to repair jewellery and will always do our best. We recommend a yearly maintenance and refurbishment service.
Gift vouchers can be purchased for a special gift. The jewellery piece ordered can either be bought from existing stock or designed and commissioned by Kinkel Jewellery. Every gift voucher has an expiry date of 3 years. Any additional costs exceeding the value of the gift voucher can and will be paid by the redeemer of the gift voucher. The vouchers are not redeemable for cash. The gift vouchers are only good for a single transaction: any remaining amount is not exchangeable with cash or another voucher and will automatically be forfeited. Only one gift voucher can be redeemed per purchase. A gift voucher will not be replaced when lost or stolen.
The same Terms and Conditions apply for our Honeymoon Jewellery Vouchers. Kinkel Jewellery cannot be held liable for any mistakes that are made when filling in the back of the Honeymoon Voucher. We will involve the redeemer of the Honeymoon Voucher in the design process of their piece.
Jewellery is available for large wholesale orders to be sold in shops and online stores at discount prices. Please contact us on email@example.com for more information. Please note that all Kinkel jewellery is handmade and therefore it may take a few weeks to complete large orders.
